Putting St Albans on the map when it comes to Climate Change
Vera & David hosted the St Albans' picnic for Climate Change Action as part of GetUp's National Day of Action on climate change on Sun 17 Nov. The bushfire was still burning whilst it was bucketing rain on St Albans that day. Luckily the Captain opened up the fire shed for us to have our picnic and have our say.

Fire Update
Vera and I have been pretty busy this last week preparing the house fire-fighting gear and crewing with the local R.F.S. brigade.
The Howe's Swamp fire has now been burning for over two weeks. Containment lines to the north and east were breached a few days back and the fire jumped the Macdonald River in a number of places.
So far the southern containment line along Gorrick's Track and the hand tool line down the Bread knife to the Macdonald have held. The fire is now unlikely to come to us down the western side of the Macdonald. It's burning in remote bushland in Yengo Nat. Park and being fought by winched in R.A.F.T. crews and helicopter water bombing.
Our main fear is it gets a hold on the eastern side of the Macdonald and then travels south.
Rain is predicted for Saturday (not much) Sunday and Monday (up to 40mm). It can't come quick enough.
Thanks to everyone who has rung and emailed to check on our safety.
